What You Need to Know
FAQ'S
Do I need travel insurance?
Insurance is protection for that unwanted and unexpected challenge.
Have you ever had luggage "misplaced" by an airline and been left with no clothes to wear on your trip? Have you ever had to cancel a trip that was fully paid due to some unforeseen incident that arose before you even had an opportunity to leave? Or have you had to cut short that cruise because of something that happened at home? Ever gotten sick on vacation?
In a coconut shell...
Travel insurance can help you with:
· Reimbursement of your travel investment due to cancellation or early termination
· Reimbursement of unexpected travel expenses (delays, loss of luggage)
· Covering emergency medical assistance and medical referrals
· Obtaining medical assistance abroad

What type of travel insurance should I choose?
Standard travel insurance covers trip cancellation or interruption. Coverage is afforded for cancellation or interruption for events outside of your control and typically need to be stated expressly in the policy. Examples of events that are commonly covered under trip cancellation/trip interruption policies include: illness, injury, or death of the traveler, a traveling companion, or a non-traveling family member; a terrorism incident; inclement weather; and a natural disaster.
However, you may be able to purchase “cancel for any reason” protection in conjunction with, or as an alternative to, a standard travel insurance policy, which would cover the cancellation or interruption of a trip for any reason not covered under the policy, including any COVID-19 fears or concerns. If you do want a real policy that will help you recoup your cost you’ve got to get a ‘cancel for any reason’ policy, which generally costs about twice as much as regular travel insurance.

How does Cancel For Any Reason Insurance work?
To get “cancel for any reason” CFAR coverage you will need to purchase a base travel insurance plan and add “cancel for any reason” (CFAR) coverage within 14 to 21 days of your first trip payment. The deadline for adding CFAR will depend on your travel insurance company, and not all companies offer it. For example, if you made your first trip payment in July, you won’t be able to add CFAR coverage now. If you have CFAR coverage, you can cancel your trip for any reason that’s not already a reason covered by your policy. You will be reimbursed between 50% and 75% prepaid, forfeited and non-refundable trip costs. The percentage varies by company and will be listed in the policy.
Here’s something to keep in mind: You might have to cancel your trip within two days of your departure to use CFAR coverage. For example, if you’re leaving tomorrow and you want to cancel your trip today, you may not be able to use CFAR coverage. Make sure you read your policy’s fine print and know the deadline for making a CFAR claim.

COVID Guidelines while traveling.
We require all clients booked with Options to either receive a negative COVID PCR test within 72 hours of your trip departure or to be fully vaccinated. Due to interaction with local guides covid-testing is required based on guidelines set forth by the government within the destination you are traveling to. The United States Centers for Disease Control currently requires all travelers to provide a negative antigen or PCR COVID test before boarding international flights. This test must be taken no more than 72 hours before departure. Options is adding client testing into the itinerary to meet this requirement. Clients are responsible for all COVID testing costs and must be prepared to show test results to any parties that require them.
